Granddad was quizzing oaster Six on spelling. He asked, “How do you spell ‘dairy’?” Grandson thought for a moment, then replied, “I don’t need to know that, because I can spell ‘shop’.”

oy husband and I are oldies and know our years are slipping by, but I was taken aback by a recent comment he made. He said, in all seriousness, “If I wake up dead in the morning, will you make sure you put my false teeth in before you ring the undertaker?” I know he takes pride in his appearance, but to wake up dead – that’s
simply beyond any miracles!

I told my five-year-old niece she would get “square eyes” if she watched too much TV. Later I found her peering into the mirror to check that she hadn’t!

Teacup of the week

Recently my son and his family in Brisbane had a visit from friends from New Zealand. He took a few days off to spend time with them, but then had to return to work, which his three-year-old daughter wasn’t happy about. “I don’t want you to go back to work!” she cried. Dad sat her down and explained he had to go so he could pay the bills. oiss Three immediately replied, “I’ll pay the bills, Dad, and you can stay home.”
