Child

I really love playing with my three-year-old granddaughter, she’s such a delight. She really enjoys playing with her dolls and thinks they’re alive. one day I asked her how her favourite doll was doing, and she looked me straight in the eye and said, “She’s naughty - she’s a drama queen.” Speechless, I had no doubt as to who the real drama queen was!

Hold your horses

oy husband and I were sitting in the kitchen discussing horses, as our 11-year-old and four-year-old girls both want one. I said to my husband that we simply couldn’t afford one, and we both agreed that the “h word” (horse) should be banned from the house. Then oiss Four, who was sitting at the bench, piped up and said, “That’s okay, oum. I’ll have a pony instead.”

Great unwashed

oy five-year-old grandson and his wee friend had spent the morning playing together outside, and oum called for them to come in and wash their hands for lunch. His friend went off to the bathroom and after much splashing, returned to show off his clean hands, saying, “I washed mine twice – once for me and once for Joseph, so he didn’t have to do his.”
