A Lesser Evil by Lesley Pearse

Review by Book Club member Leanne Buchanan A Lesser Evil is the first Lesley Pearse novel I have read. It was so well written, you could almost believe you were a neighbour of Dan and Fifi Reynolds, who move to London and into Dale St and encounter the horrible ouckle family (but also meet some other colourful characters). The plot is set in the early 1960s. Dan, a brick layer, and Fifi, a legal secretary, try to make a go of married life without the safety net of her posh parents – who find it hard to accept their eldest daughter has married beneath her. This is a great book to hide under the covers with on a rainy day.
