Dreaming of twins and dresses

Dear Janet Louise,

I had a dream a dog bit my hand and wouldn’t let it go. Half- way home, it slipped off my arm and turned into a baby, and the word “twins” kept coming up, but there was only one baby. What could this mean?

Grandmother Gail, by email

Dear Gail,

There are two aspects to this dream. A dog symbolises loyalty, generosity and protection. However, due
to the dramatic transformation from dog to baby, this dream is asking you to be cautious as there are feelings of vulnerability  surrounding you and somebody close to you.

There are two very different personalities here and an unresolved emotional issue is at hand. Responsibilities need to be addressed, but happiness wins over and you’ll feel great.

Short changed

Dear Janet Louise,

I have this recurring dream about my three children, who are now adults. In my dream, the two girls and one boy are young and I am always looking for dresses for the girls. But the dresses are all either too big or too small and I get very frustrated.

For the boy, I am always looking for shorts and the same thing happens with them – they are either too big or too short, or else the shop has run out completely, or doesn’t have them in stock. Can you please tell me what this means?

Teresa, by email

Dear Teresa,

You’re feeling quite insecure and worrying about how others see you. Flipping between clothing being too big or too small is expressing your desire to be more involved in your relationships – especially with your children. You feel you are not needed so much and redundant in their lives now they are adults. You are longing for the past when they were little and you felt needed.

Don’t be so hard on yourself – open up and let those around you get to know the real you. This will achieve balance in your relationships. It’s time for some pampering – do something that makes you feel happy and nurtured.

Dream dictionary
Quilt

To dream of a quilt represents pleasure, love, warmth and happiness. If you are making a quilt in your dream, this symbolises security. To dream the quilt is covering you represents the feeling of loneliness and that you are in need of spiritual comfort and care. To dream of your childhood quilt represents the need to bring warmth and love into your life.
