My 25-year-old boyfriend cheated on me at Christmas and I forgave him. We got back together and everything has been great until the other night a friend told me that the woman he cheated with is pregnant. And she is 40! He didn’t know anything about it until I told him and is denying the baby is his, even though he did sleep with her. I’m really gutted and don’t know what to do. He only cheated the one time, but the baby makes things very different. Help!

Let’s put the cheating aside for one minute and focus on the pregnancy. It doesn’t matter that she’s 40, does it? Let that go. Your boyfriend should request
a paternity test and I strongly advise he does – to avoid paying child support for a baby that’s not his. If he loves you and takes your relationship seriously, he’ll be happy to do this. Then, if he is the father, the two of you must decide whether this is something you are prepared to work through. If it’s too hard, you might want to rethink the relationship altogether. If he won’t get a test, simply get rid of him. Cast him adrift and leave him to his irresponsible, non-condom wearing, cheating ways.
