Bright, airy and light: it’s hard to beat the feeling that comes with a predominantly white room.

Here, vintage pieces can be easily mixed in with modern – a feat not easily achieved when using lots of colours.

These items add texture and a sense of homeliness to a room, eliminating the sterility often associated with white.

Provide accents using different hues throughout the room, such as earthy tones or soft pastels.

It’s an environment where any colour will grab your eye, so be sure to select your feature pieces wisely.

Painting the floor also really finishes off this look and ties the space together.

What I love about this is it’s incredibly easy to change the whole vibe simply by adding a rug.

It’s also another way of bringing a layer of texture to the room, or it can be used to inject colour.

Big prints look great against the stark white.
