When decorating a lounge, my focus is always to create a warm, comfortable and inviting feel.

It’s a space that holds so many precious memories, as well as being an area that’s always on show to family and friends, so it’s worth spending some time getting it right.

Using contrasting colours is a great way to create a vibrant, beautiful room, but still keeping it elegant and stylish.

The perfect way to tie the room together is to find a rug that draws a colour from another key item in your room – a patterned chair or lounger, or your cushions.

Look at reupholstering old chairs or furniture to tie in with your theme. It’s a great way to make use of beautiful older furniture and give a modern twist to your room.
