Ballet classes for adults are becoming increasingly popular. Not only do they make a good cardio workout, but they help you build muscle and become more flexible while putting less strain on joints than an aerobics class. Ballet gives you a full body workout and it has even been suggested that it can help ward off degenerative conditions like dementia and Parkinson’s. Doing ballet regularly is associated with several health benefits, including:

  • Improved posture

  • Getting little-used muscles moving

  • Improved balance

  • Burning belly fat

  • Boosting mood (thanks to the combination of moving and listening to music)

  • Easing stress. While it can help if you have done ballet or some form of dance before, there are also classes for adults who’ve never learnedto pirouette or plie.
