Stretches to tackle lower back pain

Staying active and mobile is among the best measures for tackling lower back pain. This exercise will gently stretch back muscles, although you should check with a physiotherapist before trying any new exercises if you have severe or chronic pain.

Lie on your back with arms above your head. Bend your knees and, keeping your feet on the floor, roll both knees to the left, slowly, keeping your knees together. Your right knee should be positioned directly above your left knee. Stay on the left side for 10 seconds to feel a gentle stretch in the lower back. You should stop if you feel any pain. Repeat three times each way.
