The Artist
17th February, in Reviews
Rated PG.
It’s 1927 and Hollywood hero George Valentin (Jean Dujardin) is being pushed out of the limelight with the advent of sound in films. But his entanglement with rising star, Peppy Miller (Bérénice Bejo) confronts George on both a personal and professional level.
This Oscar-nominated film’s silent nature mirrors its social commentary, but rather than detracting from the experience, it adds to it in a very clever and captivating way. The Artist is as charming as it is funny.
