Dreaming of being put up for adoption

Dreaming of being put up for adoption

Dear Janet Louise,
I recently had a dream that my parents put me up for adoption because of something I did which landed me in hospital. A few days later, one of my teachers adopted me and welcomed me to their home. What does this mean?

Abby K, via email

Dear Abby,
Your dream suggests some sort of emotional turmoil which is occurring in your life at home. To dream of your parents putting you up for adoption represents anxieties and worry. They symbolise not only love, but authority and power over you, which seems to be something you may be struggling with a little? This dream suggests the longing to feel balanced. Perhaps you are missing being a child or being able to act like a child. There is an overwhelming sense of you needing to let go and play. You have learnt from past mistakes and are ready to let the flow of life direct you down a new path. You seem to be searching for approval from those in authority. You need to ask for open communication and guidance. Take a little time out for healing of the mind, body and soul, and trust in those who are older, with wisdom to help guide you.
