Since releasing her monumental debut album Songs in A Minor in 2001, Alicia Keys has had a lot to live up to. Her subsequent efforts have mostly been disappointing – but with her latest release, Alicia has got her groove back. The New York native, who became a mother in 2010, sings of her rebirth on opening track Brand New Me, and the snare drum-heavy hip-hop ditty New Day has the energy we’ve been waiting to hear for so long.
