Margaret

Rated R16.
Kiwi actress Anna Paquin was just 23 when she shot Margaret, although legal and editing issues have delayed its release for more than six years. This two-and-a-half-hour whopper, which also stars Matt Damon, follows Lisa, a high school student who causes a fatal traffic accident.
The character dynamics here are hauntingly real – the fractured relationship between Lisa and her mother and her Lolita-like bond with her male teachers are well played by Anna. But the film is too long and pretentious, with an overload of literary references and a grating soundtrack.
