Telling the story of two families who meet at the wedding of a young couple in Italy, this film has loud echoes of the musical Mamma Mia! – which are amplified further by the fact that Pierce Brosnan stars in both flicks (although thankfully he doesn’t sing this time!). But despite the similarities, this movie is refreshing and quirky. Pierce plays a businessman who covers his grief for his first wife by working around the clock, but the absolute delight here is Danish actress Trine Dyrholm as mother-of-the-bride Ida, a happy-go- lucky hairdresser in remission from cancer.
