Ancient mythology and caution is thrown to the wind in this adaptation of the comic book of the same name. Many liberties have been taken in this reimagining of the demigod Hercules’ origin to focus on former wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The Rock and his team burn their way through numerous Roman cities for gold, only to be struck with a moral dilemma after the bloodshed. Hercules is light on substance but the well-executed action sequences make it enjoyable.
