Bored with marriage
By Wendyl Nissen on 5th January, in Columnist
Dear Wendyl,
My husband and I have been married for five years and already if feels like it’s been 50! He has become a complete homebody, never likes to go out or see friends and just prefers his couch, his TV and his remote. We are on a budget, but I don’t think dinner at a friend’s house is exactly breaking the bank. How do I get him to see that he’s boring me?

Dear Danielle,
The good thing about your letter is your husband is obviously very happy with his lot. Tell him how much you love snuggling on the couch with him, but you’d like to have a social life also and how about a compromise? If he knew five or six nights out of seven he can be on the couch he’ll be more willing to have a night out. Sit down with a diary and plan ahead a few date nights; make sure you are doing something you both like to do. See if that works.
