Ways to barbecue fruit
By Simon Gault on 26th January, in Simon Gault's recipe tips
When we’re having a barbecue, I’ve often thought it would be nice if the desserts could be cooked that way too. Can you suggest any sweet dishes that might work please?
Oddly enough bananas work really well on a barbecue. If you put a little butter on them then grill, they’ll take on a sort of caramelised effect, which is tasty. Peaches and nectarines can also be good done this way. Kebabs made with firm fruit, such as pineapple, with chunks of cake or brioche will also turn out well. Brush these with butter too and maybe a sprinkle of brown sugar or caster sugar for more sweetness.
