Christmas dessert ideas

I’m on dessert duty for our family this Christmas. I’m also on a diet! I’ve done so well in the last six months so I don’t want to ruin everything, but I know I’ll be just so tempted and one helping will lead to another. That’s if I’ve resisted nibbling while I cook – which I think is unlikely!
Oh dear. It’s difficult isn’t it? I’m not an expert in this area at all, but here’s a suggestion. Why not make all your desserts as individual servings. You could include crème brûlée in small glass bowls and parfaits with a cream/ yoghurt mix, jelly made using real fruit juice and some Christmas cake crumbled in for good measure. For some reason it doesn’t feel excessive going back for more helpings from a big bowl of trifle or Christmas pudding, but starting on another mini dessert does. Do let us know if this works for you!
