Blackberry jam

4 cups blackberries
4 cups sugar

1. Gently heat blackberries until they come to the boil, add sugar and stir until dissolved.

2. Bring to the boil again and leave to cook over a moderate heat without stirring until jam reaches setting stage.

3. Pour into sterilised jars and seal when cold.

Tip! Berry jams can usually be made with equal quantities of sugar and fruit.
