Sleepwear designer Peter Alexander is well known for his fun, fabulous pajamas and love of animals. The designer has collaborated with Mr Men author, Adam Hargreaves, on a special book, featuring beloved Peter Alexander illustrated icon Penny. All proceeds from the book will go towards animal welfare charity Paw Justice.

After purchasing the book, make sure you also shop the new Peter Alexander sleepwear range here.

**What inspired you to work with Paw Justice?

**I have been an ambassador for the animal charities in Australia for nearly three decades and when I looked into different animal charities in New Zealand Paw Justice seemed to have a clear massage and a true love for what they do.

**What was it like collaborating with Mr Men author, Adam Hargreaves, on the book Little Miss Hug and Penny the Dog?

**I really wanted to use a classic children’s book with its simple massage – that ones difference is to be celebrated – and using my Penny [character] logo with their characters just fit nicely.

**Animals are obviously close to your heart, do you have any pets of your own?

**I have two and a half! A fat sausage dog called Betty, a mutt from the pound called Butch and a little tiny mixed breed I share with my mum – also a rescue, named Midge.

**What has been your favourite sleepwear range to date?

**I always love my Disney collections as I am a sucker for their movies and characters. They just make you feel like a kid and [make you] want to smile.

**Who would you love to dress in Peter Alexander sleepwear?

**Ange, Brad and all their kids – what a family!

**How do Kiwi Peter Alexander customers differ from Australians?

**Kiwi’s tend to like the more fashion styles. You guys seem to be more experimental in bed!
