My beauty philosophy is…

Mother nature is where it’s at. If I nourish and care for my skin now, prevention is a lot kinder than cure. Plus, drink lots of alkaline mineral water; no nasty chlorine or fluoride in this liquid gold. You can find affordable 20L containers of this delicious mineral water from health food stores (refillable and BPA-free).

Skincare products I can’t live without are…

Certified Organic Cold Pressed Coconut Oil. I cleanse and moisturise with this magic stuff. Cook with it too. I use this combined with Trilogy Organic Rosehip Oil applied at night on any fine lines and for sun spot prevention and correction. Trilogy Balancing Face Lotion is better than Botox – I use this on my forehead. My new-found gem is A’kin Rose De Mai Antioxidant Day Cream. This stuff is so scrummy and works brilliantly as an eye cream.

My haircare secret is…

I wash my hair with conditioner, which cleans it without stripping away too many natural oils. Given that it has been through a lot (colour changes galore) it requires tender loving care. I shampoo once or twice a week using Giovanni Smooth As Silk Shampoo and Conditioner teamed with the daily use of leave-in treatment spray, Giovanni Vitapro Fusion. For the occasional treat I use Kevin Murphy Born.Again Essential Treatment. This is divine.

The must-have products in my make-up bag are…

Inika Organic Liquid mineral Foundation. This is amazing. It’s make-up and skincare in one and is all vegan with no harmful chemicals, additives or fillers. Oh, and natural sunscreen is a must for me. I use Oasis Sun SPF30+.

My favourite beauty treat is…

Sleep ins. Lots and lots of sleep ins. And my new-found joy is jogging;  great for body, soul and skin.

My biggest beauty sin is…

Having the occasional late night out with errm, a few too many bubblies. The next day I feel like I look 10 years older.  Just goes to show, hydration or lack thereof, has an effect.

The best thing my mother taught me about beauty was…

Be kind to yourself and it will show in your skin.
