My beauty philosophy is…

Be happy in your own skin. Don’t compare yourself to others and treat ageing with grace. Roald Dahl said it best: “If you have good thoughts it will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely”.

The skincare products I can’t live without are…

The Avène skincare range. I have super-sensitive skin and this is about the only one I don’t react to. Their Hydrance Optimale Riche Cream is amazing. I’ve used it for 20 years and love it. My other must-have is Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. It creates a magical glow regardless of how I might be feeling. And The Body Shop Body Butter is my everyday luxury for silky smooth skin.

My haircare secret is…

A very fine hairdresser. Bindy at Biba Boutique Salon in Birkenhead, Auckland, is my secret weapon. And Moroccanoil. I have a lot of thick, curly hair and with all this humidity in Auckland it’s essential so I don’t look like a total frizz bomb in warmer months.

The must-have products in my make-up bag are…

YSL Touche Éclat for any dark circles, Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder for a healthy glow. Natio Liquid Eyeliner, and Maybelline NY Great Lash Mascara – sometimes the classics really are the best. I don’t wear foundation and keep it really simple. I can do my make-up in three minutes flat.

My favourite beauty treat is…

A monthly massage at Wellbeing Therapeutic Massage For Women in Birkenhead. I schedule them a year ahead so my self-care is prioritised and I have it to look forward to. I also have regular pedicures. Teaching yoga means my feet are always on display. I love the Butter London range of nail varnish for fashion forward colours.
