Katherine Grange (23) is a Wellington-based dancer with the Royal New Zealand Ballet, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary with a nationwide tour of Swan Lake through July and August.
My beauty philosophy is… Professional dancers put all of their effort into making dancing look effortless and my beauty philosophy is similar. A bit of make-up is okay, but I think the more natural, and more like yourself you look, the better.

Essentials Refreshing Cleansing Lotion to take off my make-up. It’s so gentle on my skin.
My haircare secret is…Most days my hair is up in a bun, which I think protects it from breakages, so it’s quite long right now. I do like to keep it really clean on a regular basis, so will wash it every couple of days with Sunsilk Co-Creations Plumped Up Volume shampoo and conditioner.
The must-have products in my make-up bag are…If I were to pick one product that I had to have in my everyday bag, it would be my Elizabeth Arden mascara. I also love my L’Oréal Paris Infallible Liquid Foundation. I like to put a touch of pink blusher on my cheeks and a bit on my eyelids, along with my favourite Elizabeth Arden Lipstick in Autumn.
For the upcoming Vodafone season of Swan Lake, I’ll be using Maybelline NY Line Stiletto Eyeliner to define my features. This helps my expressions stand out when I am conveying my character’s emotions to every corner of the theatre.
My favourite beauty treat is… If I’m dressing up, I like to take the time to curl my hair. Since it’s dead straight, it can take quite a while, so I put on my favourite CD and sing along while I am doing it.
