My beauty secrets: Hailee Wheeler

Auckland’s Hailee Wheeler (43) is a spray-tan expert and the creator and founder of organic self-tanning brand Brownallyear.

My beauty philosophy is…

Get it done fast and never waste a minute thinking about people you don’t like.

The skincare products I can’t live without are…

Blusher! I love it and can sometimes go overboard, but when I have pink or bronzed cheeks it makes me feel like I’ve been outside, when in reality I’m sitting behind a computer. Natural Glow Bronzer is my make-up must-have. Also, my weekly spray tan – I am totally addicted and only a few have seen the blinding whiteness God blessed me with.

My haircare secret is…

SAW Salon in Auckland. I have so much hair, so to care for it I use Wella Enrich Shampoo and Conditioner or Sebastian Penetraitt. I also have a few quick hair-up tricks that people often compliment me on.

My favourite beauty treat is…

Anything that’s fast and makes me look fantastic.

My biggest beauty sin is…

Only tanning what the public can see. Sometimes, when I’m extremely busy, I’ll dress first and tan after. When I’m naked I look hilarious with my white torso, but it means I can be ready for anything in five minutes.

The best thing my mother taught me about beauty was…

You’re not going to look like that forever, so work on your personality. She would always tell me how funny I was, or how kind, or that I was a great friend. She never pointed out any physical attributes, onlystuff on the inside.
