Aucklander Eleanor Ozich (25) is a mum of two and the author of My Petite Kitchen Cookbook (Murdoch Books).

My beauty philosophy is… Keep things simple and natural. If you wouldn’t eat it, why put it on your skin?

The skincare products I can’t live without are… Anything from The Herb Farm, particularly their Rose Face Cream. The Herb Farm products are 100% natural and made with love using mostly plant extracts and essential oils, which are grown on site at their beautiful farm near Palmerston North.

My haircare secret is… Using a homemade hair rinse. I fill up a recycled bottle with mostly water, diluted with a little apple cider vinegar and honey, and I rinse my hair with it each morning.

The must-have products in my make-up bag are… After making the change to natural skincare products, I decided to switch out my make-up as well. Dr Hauschka’s Translucent Make-up is a beautiful foundation that’s light and silky on the skin, covers imperfections well and lends a glow. Fantastic for making you feel instantly lovely.

My favourite beauty treat is… To make a face mask with oats, extra virgin coconut oil and a little honey, or avocado and banana. There are so many natural ingredients out there that you can use to make your own products.

My biggest beauty sin is… Not washing my make-up off before bed. My skin suffers the next day. I love to use extra virgin coconut oil as a natural make-up remover – it smells incredible and leaves your skin feeling silky smooth.

The best thing my mother taught me about beauty was… To wear sunscreen, especially on your face. She had an SPF powder foundation, which I used to feel pretty special using as a young girl. She still has beautiful, clear skin, and I’m so glad to have learned this beauty tip from her.
