My beauty philosophy is… A little bit of beauty upkeep is like eating an apple a day. Also smiling doesn’t cost you anything – you produce fewer wrinkles when you smile then you do when you frown.

The skincare products I can’t live without are… I’m spoiled for choice as the creator of a skincare brand, but my favourite product in the range has to be my beautiful, rich Oxygen Women’s Crème Exfoliator. This is my essential for keeping my skin looking and feeling great.

My haircare secret is… Sebastian Trilliance shampoo and conditioner keeps my hair in tip-top condition. To style I use Moroccanoil each day to make sure I don’t have any fuzzies or flyaways.

The must-have products in my make-up bag are… My MAC brushes, as using make-up brushes makes such a difference to the finished result. I also love Maybelline NY’s Great Lash Mascara and have been using it since I was 16. I’m not a lipstick chick, however I love MAC Pro Longwear Lipcolour and may have every shade available. I can’t get MAC make-up in Nelson so the duty free counter loves me each time I travel overseas.

My favourite beauty treat is… Me time! Nelson Woman Beauty Day Spa has an amazing Tropical Paradise Ritual treatment using Pure Fiji products. It’s the ultimate beauty treat – a relaxing massage with exotic oil, then your body is enveloped with body butter and covered to promote hydration. This is finished off with a scalp treatment. I love it and I book in three times a year to recharge and relax.

My biggest beauty sin is… Not wearing sunscreen as a teenager.

The best thing my mother taught me about beauty was…Upkeep! Even when you have children, try to make time for a bit – whether it’s a trip to the hair salon or simply putting on a face mask once the kids are all in bed.
