Kati Kasza: My beauty secrets

Kati Kasza - my beauty secrets

Kati Kasza is the founder of Evolu Botanical Skincare.

MY BEAUTY PHILOSOPHY IS… Balance is the key to lasting beauty. Beauty sleep does count – I function my best on nine hours a night. Restorative yoga works for me – I practise 15 minutes in the morning. That, and having two dogs that make me go walking even when it’s pouring with rain.

THE SKINCARE PRODUCTS I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT ARE… Evolu, of course. For products I’d take to a desert island, I’d have to have the Evolu Relaxing Crème Cleanser, Facial Toner, Renewing Facial Exfoliator, Protective Day Cream with SPF15 and a drum of the Facial Serum – which, if necessary, could be drunk or eaten.

MY HAIRCARE SECRET IS… Having super-short hair. It’s more flattering as you get older and, of course, requires some great styling products. I use Keune Molding Paste.

THE MUST-HAVE PRODUCTS IN MY MAKEUP BAG ARE… Anything from Bare Minerals – a beautiful non-toxic makeup range. I love their Round The Clock Eyeliner to give that smoky look at the base of the lashes. For mascara, I’m in love with Hourglass Film Noir Full Spectrum Mascara – beautiful for the lashes and it’s sulfate, phthalate and synthetic-dye free.

MY FAVOURITE BEAUTY TREAT IS… Having a facial when I’m in a foreign city. It might sound extravagant, but it’s when I have the time, plus it’s great research for me. Singapore and Paris are two cities that come to mind as I travel there twice a year. I’m planning to visit Kiev this year, so will keep you posted!

MY BIGGEST BEAUTY SIN IS… Having exposed my skin to the sun without sunblock. My best excuse is it was a long time ago in the days when we didn’t know how risky sun damage is. I still walk at 6am with no sunblock on so I don’t end up being vitamin D deficient, which is prevalent. Hence my mantra about balance being the key to lasting beauty.

THE BEST THING MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME ABOUT BEAUTY WAS… Less is best. She used to scrutinise my look when I was younger to make sure I looked myself and not overly made-up. I hated it at the time, but now am thankful that she was so insistent.
