My beauty philosophy is… Simple and uncomplicated. And that’s because I don’t have the time for it to be anything else! Cleanse, moisturise and try to remember to use sunblock, even in the winter.
The skincare products I can’t live without are… Cetaphil, my cheap but oh so fabulous cleanser. And Jojoba Oil; it’s gold in a bottle. I also love coconut oil. I cook with it as well as using it on my skin.
My haircare secret is… Kerastase Resistance Shampoo and Conditioner followed by Pureology Perfect4Platinum Miracle Filler Treatment. My hair is washed, blow-dried, straightened or curled and hairsprayed to within an inch of its life five days a week. The miracle treatment is exactly that.
The must-have products in my makeup bag are… Concealer, mineral foundation, mascara and lip gloss. But often I go relatively makeup free after midday as I wear so much of it in the morning.
My favourite beauty treat is… Something I haven’t done this year at all! Nothing beats a facial or a massage (or both) in a quiet room where no one wants anything from me for two whole hours! Bliss…
My biggest beauty sin is… Not getting enough sleep. Monday to Friday, my alarm goes at 4.40am and I don’t tumble into bed until around 10.30pm. It’s not the best routine and desperately needs an overhaul… which I’m working on (but not very successfully).
The best thing my mother taught me about beauty was… Never go to bed with your makeup on. And over the last 20 or so years, no matter the time, no matter how many drinks may have been consumed on any given night, I have always cleansed my face!
