MY BEAUTY PHILOSOPHY IS… Very simple. Cleanse, tone and moisturise. Prevention is better than cure. Be wary of the sun. Grooming is important to give a professional impression. Have a simple, slick routine – everyday makeup shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes. Modelling training when I was young gave me a good foundation.

MY HAIRCARE SECRET IS… Putting my hair in the hands of a professional (Peter at Vivo in Auckland’s CBD), as well as Kerastase Oleo Relax Conditioner and L’Oréal Professionnel Tecni Art Lisse Control. I always keep my hair at a length where I can tie it up. And couldn’t be without my GHD straighteners.
THE MUST-HAVE PRODUCTS IN MY MAKEUP BAG ARE… Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation and YSL Touche Éclat Concealer. Also Clarins Eye Pencil in grey and good quality brushes. I’m always looking for the “perfect” mascara that works well and doesn’t flake or smudge even after a frantic day.
MY FAVOURITE BEAUTY TREAT IS… I love perfume. I’ve read many books on it and find it fascinating. I count myself extremely lucky to travel for my work and, when I can, I love to visit the Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella, which is the oldest perfumery in Florence, and the Roja Dove glittering perfume emporium on the 5th floor of Harrods in London. One day I would love to go to the Osmothèque in Versailles, France, where you can smell all the old perfumes. My favorite perfume at the moment is Five O’clock Au Gingembre by Serge Lutens.
MY BIGGEST BEAUTY SIN IS… My partner would say painting nails in confined spaces. He hates the smell and has banished me to the garden for this.
THE BEST THING MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME ABOUT BEAUTY WAS… My mother has always taught me to look after my teeth. Everybody knows that beauty comes from within and is best expressed through your smile.
