Combination skin

Discover the right products for combination skin

Combination skin is the most common type and can be tricky to care for. This week, Elizabeth Arden’s Sheryll Thompson shares her expert advice.

Sheryll says…

There are two forms of combination skin: oily/normal and dry/normal.

With oily/normal, the T-zone (forehead, nose and chin) is oily, while the rest of the face is classified as normal. With dry/normal, the central area of the face may be normal, with dry patches on the cheeks.

Combination skin can be frustrating, as part of your face looks dry and is prone to tightness and fine lines, while the rest of it is shiny and greasy, with a tendency for occasional blemishes.

It’s important to find the right skincare products. Look for a range designed to balance oil control and hydration, such as Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Skin Balancing line. This offers gentle exfoliation and toning, while working with the skin’s natural repair process to create ideal moisture.

When it comes to foundation, oily/normal types should look for an oil-free liquid or powder that will help minimise shine and keep the skin looking matte throughout the day. Try Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Mineral Powder Foundation SPF20 $72.

Dry/normal types will benefit from a liquid or cream foundation for comfort and hydration. Try Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Sponge-On Cream Make-up $69.
