7 ways to turn back time!

1. Skinvitals Lift Lip Boosting Treatment $16.99 targets an area that ages especially fast if you're a smoker. The pen-style applicator releases a lip serum that contains wrinkle fighter Coenzyme Q10, plus an ingredient called Maxi-Lip that plumps and hydrates lips.

2. If you don't exfoliate twice a week, you won't get maximum benefit out of your other anti-ageing products. I'm loving Innoxa Polished Skin Exfoliator $25 as the grains are superfine and it's enriched with nourishing oils so it sloughs off dead cells gently. Perfect for older skins.

3. L'Oréal Paris Revitalift Deep-set Wrinkles Restoring Day Cream $39.99 is a new day cream aimed at 40+ women. What's different about it is the combination of three ingredients: it has got one of the top UVA protectors Mexoryl, effective wrinkle treatment Pro-Retinol A, plus Fibro Plastyl for skin firmness. It's all packaged in an airless bottle to stop the active ingredients deteriorating and promises younger looking skin in 10 weeks.

4. If you're working in a centrally heated office during winter, here's a great desk-drawer product. Spritz a little Moisture Mist Balancing Gel Mist $26 onto your face two or three times a day and keep skin hydrated. It's oil-free so can be used over makeup. It's also great used over moisturiser as a pre-makeup base.

5. Nivea Visage Vital Triple Action Soy Replenishing Day Care $19.95 has been developed for more mature skins and contains soy proteins to stimulate the skin-renewal process that slows down with age. It targets the three signs of ageing - wrinkles, firmness and age spots.

6. Garnier Ultralift ProX Re-Plumping Anti-Wrinkle Day Cream $24.99 is an updated product that combines the original UltraLift formula of ginger extract and Vitamin A as well as the hot new anti-ageing ingredient Pro-Xylane. This one is targeted at enhancing skin's suppleness, substance and consistency, plus it combats wrinkles.

7. Bio-Oil $19.95 is a bit of a wonder product. Originally developed to reduce scarring - it's used on burn victims in South Africa - but it's also great for fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation. Don't just use it on your face. You can put a few drops in your bath or use it on the dry ends of your hair pre-shampoo.

Over the Teacups

While out walking with our fouryear- old granddaughter, she became grizzly and irritated so my husband decided
to lift her onto his shoulders to carry her. Having only taken a few steps, she said to me, “Nana, Papa has got paint in his hair.” I looked up and realised she was talking about his new white strands coming through. Kids – you’ve got to love them.
