Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, has died. She passed away in hospice care at the age of 22.

Her family shared the following message on her mother’s Facebook page: “It is hard to say goodbye. On Sunday, July 26, Bobbi Kristina Brown made her transition peacefully. The family thanks everyone for their loving thoughts and prayers. As Bobbi Kristina would say: ‘The wind is behind me and the sun is in my face.’”

Bobbi Kristina had been hospitalised since late January, after being being found face down and unresponsive in a bathtub in her Georgia home. She was placed in an induced coma when doctors discovered her brain function was “significantly diminished” as a result, however despite the best efforts of medical staff, she showed no signs of getting better. Her family was told a full recovery would be “a miracle”.

In April, her grandmother Cissy said, “According to the doctors, she has global and irreversible brain damage and remains unresponsive.” She added, “We can only trust in God for a miracle at this time. Keep us in your prayers.”

Bobbi Kristina was moved to Peachtree Christian Hospice in Georgia last month. Her aunt Pat Houston said, “Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, Bobbi Kristina Brown’s condition has continued to deteriorate.” She passed away a month later.

Bobbi Kristina had a close relationship with her mother, who passed away in 2012.

“She is finally at peace in the arms of God,” the Houston family said in a statement.

“We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”

Bobbi Kristina was the daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown.

Bobbi Kristina’s mother, Whitney Houston, was found unconscious in a bathtub in 2012. She was pronounced dead only hours after her discovery after failed attempts at resuscitation. The Los Angeles County coroner’s office reported the cause of Whitney’s death was drowning and the “effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use”. There has been no evidence to indicate drugs or alcohol were a factor in Bobbi Kristina’s case.
