Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, spent some time away from her husband Prince William over the weekend as she bargain-hunted with a group of friends in the town of Holt and nearby Fakenham in North Norfolk.

Kate, who is planning on redecorating both Kensington Palace and her and William’s property at Anmer Hall, Norfolk, before the birth of her baby in July, hit some antique shops in the town of Holt.

Kate spent 30 minutes in Mews Antique Emporium, but left empty-handed. “Kate has good taste but she prefers a more contemporary style,” a friend told the Daily Mail.

“The duchess looked radiant and well. She was happy to mingle with other customers and security was very low key… No purchases were made by the duchess, although some were made by her friends,” a spokesperson for the store told the newspaper.
