The Duchess of Cambridge made a triumphant return to public life with her first official appearance since announcing her pregnancy.

Since news of the second royal baby was announced, Catherine has be absent from more than 15 official royal public engagements due to Hyperemesis Gravidarum – severe morning sickness.

However, she was feeling well enough to make a public appearance welcoming the president of Singapore, Tony Tan Keng Yam, with her husband Prince William on Tuesday.

Kate is the picture of elegance in her Alexander McQueen coat dress.

The Duchess wore an elegant grey coat dress by one of her favourite designers, Alexander McQueen, with a matching grey Jane Taylor hat, and held a small black clutch protectively in front of her.

Later that day, she made a second appearance at a glamorous black tie event for the Wildlife Photographer of the Year awards.

Catherine dazzled in a floor-length blue evening gown, wearing her hair loose in her signature soft curls.

A statement by Clarence House said: “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby.

“The Duchess of Cambridge continues to be affected by Hyperemesis Gravidarum, but her condition is steadily improving.”
