Philip Seymour Hoffman found dead

Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman (46) has been found dead in his Manhattan apartment.

The actor and father of three was found earlier this morning in his New York apartment, surrounded by bags of heroin and with a needle in his arm, according to police.

Philip, who struggled with addiction in the past and reportedly checked into rehab last year after 23 years of being clean, is survived by partner Mimi O’Donnell and their three children, Tallulah, Willa and Cooper.

His death comes only a day after a spokesperson for the Capote star issued a statement following an internet hoax claimed he had passed away on Saturday.

His most recent role was in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
