Lady Gaga has denied reports that she and her boyfriend Taylor Kinney are planning to tie the knot.
The Sun reported yesterday that Gaga’s close friend, DJ Starlight, revealed that the Bad Romance singer calls her boyfriend of almost two years “the one” and is ready to make things official. “From all I’ve heard, I don’t think I’m dropping a secret by saying they are ready to get hitched this year,” the DJ told the UK newspaper. But Gaga said today that the wedding plans are “untrue”.
The singer has been recovering after undergoing hip surgery in February. True to her eccentric style, the pop star has decked out her wheelchair in 24K gold. Ken Borochov, of luxury brand Mordekai, designed the gold-plated wheelchair for the pop star.
“I certainly wasn’t expecting that phone call and have never done a wheelchair, but am always up for a challenge and was thrilled to create what I affectionately dubbed the Chariot, a chair fit only for a queen,” he said in a statement.
Gaga has been in good spirits since her operation. “As they wheeled me into surgery today, I thought about all of your pain and perseverance, your unique family situations, school environments, health issues, homelessness, identity struggles – sometimes you are so brave that it terrifies me,” she wrote to her fans on her website.
“So I thought to myself, I’m alive, I’m living my dream, and this is just a bump in the road. I’m grateful because this is temporary, and for some it is not.”
