Lily Collins attacked Prince Charles with a phone

As Phil Collins’ daughter, actress Lily Collins can claim to be from pop star lineage, but she admits that her experiences with real royalty have not been as smooth.

The 24-year-old says when she was young she attacked Prince Charles with a mobile phone during a meeting between him and her father.

“It was a kid’s toy. Apparently, I threw it at him when I was little. I was playing with it, then as he went to take it, I chucked it at him,” said Lily in a recent interview. “He said, ‘People have gone to the Tower [of London] for less!’”

The actress, who stars in teen fantasy drama, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, recently split from her boyfriend and co-star Jamie Campbell Bower, and shared some advice to girls looking for their own Prince Charming in the latest issue of Seventeenmagazine.

“My advice for girls who are waiting for their Prince Charming is to be open for anything,” says Lily. “Be open to new experiences, be open to the idea that it may take longer than you want, but if you’re open to meeting new people and new adventures, then love will come along.”
