Honey Boo Boo ready to quit the limelight? (VIDEO)

Reality star and internet sensation Honey Boo Boo (Alana Thompson) is showing signs she wants to quit the limelight.

The seven-year-old – who first rose to fame on the show Toddlers & Tiaras and now has her own reality show in the US called Here Comes Honey Boo Boo – has been acting up on TV during recent interviews.

During an appearance on Dr Drew’s talk show, the normally bubbly blonde sulked on air. When asked whether she liked being on TV replied, “No! Fans come up to me and I hate it!”

Just days before, Alana appeared on Access Hollywood Live – one of five interviews she did in two days – and threw pillows at one of the show’s hosts. Friends of Alana in her hometown of rural McIntyre, Georgia say the star appeared upset about being constantly thrust into the spotlight.

“Last week I saw her come out the front door, upset, with cameras following her,” a witness told In Touch magazine.

Alana is reportedly accompanied by six bodyguards as she carries out her everyday activities in her home town.

“A lot of parents feel sorry for her. Everywhere she goes, the attention she gets is crazy – it’s more than an adult could handle,” the witness adds.

Honey Boo Boo’s mum June refutes claims she is exploiting her child’s celebrity status and says she is prepared to let her daughter quit the show if she wishes.

“If Alana says she doesn’t want to do TV anymore…then we back out and just continue our lives,” June said.
