Embattled star Charlie Sheen is set to grace our screens again after his exit from Two and a Half Men and subsequent meltdown last year.
The actor will feature on new show Anger Management, which will debut in the US on June 28.
The series, which is loosely based on the 2003 film featuring Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler, isn’t set to start filming until March 22, but FX Networks has confirmed they will screen two episodes back-to-back.
Last month FX president John Landgraf admitted he was “sceptical” about the project when he first heard the troubled star was involved, but was won over with the pitch.
“I believe in redemption. I’m all for giving him the opportunity for turning things around,” he said.
The show will begin airing the same night as Russell Brand’s new talk show, Strangely Uplifting.
Anger Management will be Charlie’s first TV series since he was axed from Two and a Half Men, which he recently said should be shelved even though his replacement Ashton Kutcher was doing the best job he could.
“I don’t think it should go on past this year. I think people are there because there’s nowhere else to go,” Charlie (46) says.
“Hats off to Ashton for doing the best job he can. I don’t think he’s working with the best writing because [Lorre is] doing too many shows. He and [Jon Cryer] and [Angus T Jones] deserve better material.”
