Actress Anne Hathaway has firmly established herself as a leading lady, yet likens herself to troubled star Lindsay Lohan.
The One Day star insists she is very similar to Lindsay – who has been to rehab and jail numerous times and experienced a string of legal problems – and that she has “wasted time” being self-destructive.
But Anne admits she was lucky enough to be able to live out her mistakes in private.
“Lindsay Lohan and I have more in common than people think. We’ve all done things we shouldn’t,” she says.
“It is just that I did stuff at college when nobody knew about it, so I’m not a saint. I wasted time doing self-destructive things.
“I found out you can only dance on so many table tops. I got all that out of my system and I am healthy and grounded.”
