The Duchess of Cambridge is making the most of her brand-new kitchen at Kensington Palace and has reportedly been taking cooking classes.

TV chef Rachel Khoo, from The Little Paris Kitchen, told UK magazine Woman that the Duchess has been attending culinary classes at Leith’s cookery school in London.

“Kate was in my class. Kate was ill for a few days, so I took notes for her,” Rachel says. “She was a lovely person, but she kept to herself.”

A two-week course at the famed culinary school doesn’t come cheap and will set you back around $3,000 NZD.

Kate and Wills are installing two kitchens at their Kensington Palace apartment.

Kate and Wills raised eyebrows recently when it emerged that they were refurbishing their Kensington Palace kitchen at a British taxpayer cost of more than $300,000.

In addition, to the main kitchen the couple are also installing a second private, family kitchen, which courtiers have been quick to point out will be paid for by the royal couple themselves.
