It was a colourful Bollywood bash, but now Colin Mathura-Jeffree’s 43rd birthday party last night is being remembered for all the wrong reasons. One of his invited guests, Art Green, is causing controversy for his choice of costume at the star-studded event.
The Bachelor, Art Green, was photographed with his girlfriend Matilda Rice at the celebrity event wearing traditional Indian dress. In the snaps, he appears to have intentionally darkened his skin tone to complete the outfit.
This morning, Matilda Rice commented on a photo of the couple at the event on social media, calling Art a “chocolate covered treat”.

The post has been met with criticism online, with users condemning Art’s decision to darken his complexion for the costume. Matilda has since deleted it.
Despite the upset online, president of the New Zealand Indian Central Association, Harshadbhai Patel, said he did not have a problem with Art’s costume.
“It was Colin Mathura-Jeffree’s party, and he is an Indian model, so it was a theme for the party and I personally can not see anything offensive.”
