Kim Cattrall claims acting consumes her life so much that she can’t hold on to a relationship. The outspoken actress split from her chef boyfriend of five years in July last year but says she hasn’t given up looking for love.
The 53-year-old star explains, "It's very hard for someone not involved in this business to really understand what it's about. You work 12-hour days and something like a series literally consumes your life. I think it's just time’s not there, really. But I'm still hopeful that I'll meet someone.”
Kim – who is most famous for playing man-eater Samantha on ‘Sex and the City’ – also admits that she is nervous about her forthcoming role in London play 'Private Lives', opposite 'Pride and Prejudice' actor Matthew MacFadyen.
She says, “Sometimes I think why do I have to do these scary things? It would be much easier just to play Samantha for the rest of my life. You've been looking forward to working with this director and these actors and this play and then it comes and you think, 'Oh, f*ck! Oh, no! It's here!' You very much feel the blood coursing through your veins.”

Over the Teacups
My four-year-old grandson was at the supermarket with his mother when he exclaimed, “You’re buying something, Mummy, auntie is buying something – I want to buy something!” Mum replied, “You have to be big, have a wife, have a job, then you can buy things.” He replied, “I have a wife – Maia,” meaning his four-year-old friend. Mum said, “What about a job?” Master Four replied, “My job is having a wife!”

Water you want?
I was in the car and asking Master Three what he wanted for Christmas. He said he was going to ask Santa for a water pistol. “And Nanny,” he added, “I’m going to ask for some water for our paddling pool.” Now that could be interesting!

Bee gone
Master Three had his first bee sting recently. The incident broke his heart, but after many cuddles he came right. Later he said, “I never want to see another bee again. I don’t like bees any more, I only like flies.”

Fraud with worry
My daughter warned me that “old people are being taken for a ride,” and that I shouldn’t engage in conversation with phone sales people. To this, Master Five piped up, “Nana can’t go on that ride, she’s old.”
