Baz Luhrmann collaborates with hip-hop artist Jay-Z to transfer the decadence of the roaring 1920s to the era of bling on the soundtrack to this glamorous blockbuster.

Will.i.am’s Bang Bang fuses hip-hop with a sample from The Charleston, and a flapper-friendly cover of Beyoncé’s Crazy in Love, performed by Emeli Sandé and The Bryan Ferry Orchestra, is a treat. Meanwhile, Lana Del Rey’s delicate Young and Beautiful and Jack White’s cover of U2’s Love Is Blindness bring F. Scott Fitzgerald’s tale of heartbreak to life with intensity.
