Ask the expert: covering a spot

I have an important job interview tomorrow, and woke up with a big spot! What’s the best way to cover it?

===

  1. Prepare skin for makeup. Apply tea-tree oil or oil free moisturiser to get the skin ready for foundation.
  2. Using your fingertip, first apply foundation by gently pressing and tapping a dab of product onto the spot. Don’t rub, don’t overblend.
  3. If needed, give extra coverage using concealer or touchup stick.
  4. To ‘set’ the area and prevent shine, lightly dust some loose transculent powder on top with a big soft brush. This will prevent the makeup from rubbing off, and give you a matt finish.
